PAX East 2014 was held at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center in Boston, Massachusetts from April 11 to 13. PAX (Penny Arcade Expo) is focused on gamers and their enjoyment of the medium, typically host to roughly 60,000 attendees.
There were many notable developers in attendance, including Blizzard Entertainment, Microsoft, and Ubisoft; however, powerhouse Nintendo opted out of this conference. They did later make an appearance at PAX Prime 2014.
Some of the biggest announcements were the unveiling of Sid Meyer's Civilization: Beyond Earth, a new Titanfall DLC, the introduction of Blizzard's Hearthstone game to iPad, and a playable demo of State of Decay's DLC, Lifeline. PAX itself announced a new conference opening next year, adding to their roster of locations with PAX South in San Antonio, Texas.
